In the early days of my business, I would prep for every single client session like it was a dissertation defense.

I’m talking pages of notes.
Pulling charts.
Outlining talking points.
Highlighting my Google Docs like I was about to lead a TED Talk on their Human Design.

I needed to prove I was ready.
I thought that’s what a “professional coach” did.
Come prepared. Come polished. Anticipate every question before it was asked.

But here’s what actually happened:

I’d spend hours prepping…
And then we’d get on the call, and I wouldn’t look at a single note.

Because the second they started speaking...
The energy shifted.
Something deeper opened.
And I knew.

Not from my notes.
Not from a module.
Not from something I’d studied.
From my body.

From presence.
From the truth that’s only available when you stop trying to perform and start listening.

That’s when I realized:

The prep wasn’t making me better.
It was making me doubt myself.

All that time I spent gathering facts was just me trying to earn the permission to trust what I already knew.

The coaching industry has taught us to prioritize information over intuition.

Memorize the protocol.
Lean on the framework.
Don’t you dare “wing it.”

And while there’s absolutely a place for depth and training and skill-building...
What most of us are craving isn’t more certification.

It’s permission.

To trust our instincts.
To follow a nudge instead of a script.
To speak in our own cadence, not just someone else’s template.

Because your wisdom doesn’t live in the outline.
It lives in you.

And no amount of prep can substitute for presence.

☉ Try this instead:

1. Lead a call without prepping.​
No slides. No notes. Just your energy and theirs. Let your system show you what it already knows.

2. Post something unscripted this week.​
No batching. No formatting. No value sandwich. Just truth. Say what’s real right now.

3. Ask yourself: “What do I know without checking?”​
Let that be enough.

You’re not here to regurgitate information.
You’re here to transmit insight.

To see what others miss.
To name what no one else has language for.
To guide...not because you memorized a model...but because you remembered your power.

You don’t need a script to be brilliant.

You just need to get quiet enough to hear yourself.
